Between its historical monuments and its dream beaches, Crete is one of the cradles of Greek mythology. This hammock pays homage to the palace of Knossos, populated since 7,000 BC. Discovered in 1878 by a Cretan antiquarian, it is today one of the most important testimonies of Minoan civilization. The site was, however, excavated and renovated by the British archaeologist Arthur Evans in 1900. For the latter, the palace belonged to the legendary king Minos, son of Zeus and Europa.
